Happy New Year Dolls!
Let's make this year something you look back on as amazing!
Consider this year as a fresh start to get reacquainted with your goals, and when I say goals, I mean realistic goals.
You might be thinking 'a goal is a goal' right?
Nope!
A realistic goal is something that is achievable, it must be set by you for you.
Basically, realistic goals are smart goals.
Let's break it down:
SMART:
S: specific, well-defined and well-funded
M: measurable outcome. What is your end game?
A: attainable and firmly based in reality
R: relevant to the here and now; can move forward
T: time-based in your capabilities in real life
My goal for this year is to give myself 1 realistic goal each month. So, by the end of this year I can look back to see what I have achieved.
Here are some ways you can achieve your realistic goals for 2020:
GET ON A TIME TABLE
If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail it's as simple as that!
Get yourself a planner. When you schedule what you have do throughout the day, your tasks get a bit easier and then you have the time to do other activities.
This is where your goals would become more achievable.
SAY BYE BYE TO COMFORT ZONES
Try saying ‘YES’ to things you usually won’t do! Being comfortable is not going to let you achieve your goals!
Doing the same thing over and over again will not get you closer to the life you dream of.
It’s important to try new things, to be more open minded and trust that whatever you throw yourself into, that there is a positive outcome.
HAVE A GROWTH MINDSET
Do you know that there are 2 types of mindsets?
1. Fixed mindset: where you believe you are who you are and that’s it.
2. Growth mindset: where you are always changing and improving.
This also comes with being open minded, and getting out of your comfort zone.
Having a growth mindset will help you to overcome any challenges brought your way.
TAKE TIME FOR YOU
Life happens and sometimes we fall into a routine without stopping to think about our actions.
Make sure to check in with yourself. Especially with your mental health and ask yourself ‘what do you need?’ or ‘how do you feel?’
Remember what you are doing has a purpose and not just ticking boxes!
